While we can put the blame on the media for building all this unhealthy images of how women should look like or how women should act, sometimes I think women themselves forgot the fact that they, too, play a big role in shaping women's images nowadays. Women put bigger pressure on themselves, even bigger than the media and other people put on their shoulders; the strive to look and act perfect drives women to their edges.
I once asked a guy friend for his opinion on how "fussy" women are when it comes to their looks. He shrugged his shoulders and told me that basically men don't really care as long as they look good in whatever they wear. And also, he said, the best thing a woman can wear is their confidence.
It's ironic to see how women pressure themselves to be different, to be beautiful, to be pretty, while in fact, with all they have, they already are.
Expectations will always be there and they will always be higher and harder than what you can achieve, but I think the most important thing that all women should remember is that it's okay to be who you are. It's okay to love yourself, and it's okay to not wanting to live up to their expectations.
Women should be happy with their own standard. :)
